Anyone else reading the Australian Data Room blog?

I’ve been diving into some research lately on data rooms (yeah, I know, not the sexiest topic on the surface), but I stumbled on this Australian Data Room blog that’s actually way more helpful than I expected.

It’s not just generic copy-paste stuff—it gets into the nitty gritty of things like how Aussie companies are using virtual data rooms for M&A, startups doing capital raises, and even real estate firms managing transactions. What I liked is that it feels less “corporate fluff” and more practical, like they know their audience is people who are either about to use one or are knee-deep in a deal.

Some takeaways that stuck with me:

  • Local relevance matters. A lot of blogs talk about US or EU regulations, but this one digs into Australian compliance and privacy laws (which, honestly, can be confusing if you only read international sources).

  • Cost breakdowns. They actually compare features and pricing models, which is useful if you’ve ever been blindsided by how expensive some VDRs can get.

  • Use cases you wouldn’t think of. Like, they mentioned nonprofits and even education sectors starting to use data rooms for document control.

I know most of us here are tech/business nerds in some way, so figured I’d throw it out there. Has anyone else been following that blog? Worth bookmarking IMO, especially if you’re in the middle of comparing providers or just want to keep up with how this stuff is evolving in Australia.

Curious—do you guys think blogs like this are genuinely helpful for decision-making, or do you mostly rely on peer reviews/forums when choosing platforms like data rooms?
